Joseph DiCostanzo of the American Museum of Natural
History, NY says. "...the woodpecker sculpture
pictured
on your web page, is of a Magellanic Woodpecker (Campephilus
magellanicus), which now that the Ivory-billed Woodpecker
of North America and the Imperial Woodpecker of Central
America are extinct, is probably the largest woodpecker
in the world.
