Camp Mutnovesky / Gorely...
The banya, like a dry sauna, and doubled as our body-washing facility. Mutnovsky in the background.
So flowers at camp, Indian Paintbrush?
Gorely, our view from camp.
The hut, a sleeping facility for some, our cooking area, food storage and lecture hall for all.
The hut from the front. People without tents, or with wet tents slept in the attic area.
This hut was close to the outhouse (see below) area and one of our guides and his two dogs stayed there.
The outhouse, actually two, back to back with cloth in bewteen, boards on the floows surrounding a hole.
Gorely to the right, being eaten by monsterous clouds.
Everything and anything was hung in the cabin to dry. Boots, socks, sleeping bags, towels...
One of the first snow patches folks had to climb to get to Gorely, as seen from camp.
