Camp
Mutnovesky / Gorely... |
|
The
banya, like a dry sauna, and doubled as our body-washing
facility. Mutnovsky in the background. |
|
So
flowers at camp, Indian Paintbrush? |
|
Gorely,
our view from camp. |
|
The
hut, a sleeping facility for some, our cooking area,
food storage and lecture hall for all. |
| |
The
hut from the front. People without tents, or with wet
tents slept in the attic area. |
|
This
hut was close to the outhouse (see below) area and one
of our guides and his two dogs stayed there. |
|
|
The
outhouse, actually two, back to back with cloth in bewteen,
boards on the floows surrounding a hole. |
|
Gorely
to the right, being eaten by monsterous clouds. |
|
Everything
and anything was hung in the cabin to dry. Boots, socks,
sleeping bags, towels... |
|
One
of the first snow patches folks had to climb to get
to Gorely, as seen from camp. |
